Ambre et Epices Tulum Elopement | Imani & Karen

11/05/2021

A MESMERIZING ELOPEMENT IN THE ENCHANTING AURA OF TULUM

In the heart of Tulum, amidst the challenges of a pandemic, Imani and Karen orchestrated a microwedding that was not just an exchange of vows but a celebration of love and intimacy. With a guest list carefully curated to under 10 people, the couple ensured their day was not only COVID-conscious but also allowed them to relish every moment without feeling the pressure of a large gathering. The decision to keep the ceremony private, witnessed just by us, added a layer of authenticity to their exchange of vows, as emotions flowed freely, marked by tears of happiness and genuine surprises.

Imani and Karen’s choice of Ambre et Epices hotel as their venue perfectly encapsulated the essence of their desires for an extended vacation. The Moroccan-inspired architecture and the natural beauty of Tulum provided an effortlessly refined backdrop. The couple embraced minimalistic decoration, allowing the venue’s charm to shine through, and extended this simplicity to the suggested dusty pastel and neutral dress code. The rustic outdoor dining table echoed the muted botanical color palette, creating an intimate and luxurious atmosphere.

One of the standout moments for these two was their unplanned, laughter-filled ring exchange. In the absence of scripted words, their genuine laughter and joy filled the air as they slid the rings onto each other’s fingers. The first look, orchestrated with our help, became an unexpectedly special moment, with Imani overwhelmed by Karen’s loveliness and both of them realizing the beauty of the leap they were about to take together.

Imani and Karen’s wedding was not just a declaration of love; it was a reflection of their personalities, values, and the joy they found in the small, unscripted moments that made their day uniquely theirs.

Words from the couple:

“My wife and I hired Raw Shoots for our intimate destination wedding, and they exceeded our very high expectations (my wife used to work as a photographer; I’m a designer). Lori and Rob made us feel comfortable from the moment we met, and because of this, they were able to capture the most magical and intimate moments from our big day. They look effortless! There are so many photos that made Karen and I say, “How did they get that angle? I didn’t even know they were there!” Raw Shoots is so aptly named, because no matter what emotion my wife and I were experiencing in the moment, you see it unfiltered in the photos. We weren’t posing or trying too hard, and because of that, I can look back on the photos and feel all of those feelings again. Every single person I’ve shown our wedding photos to has asked who our photographer was. These two are absolutely beautiful souls! Truly outstanding service and lovely people that we’d work with again in a heartbeat.”

What is one piece of advice you would give to future couples planning their wedding?

Slow down and take it all in. Remember what the day is about – you’re marrying the love of your life! Everything else is icing on the cake.
